Honda Motor Co. announced it plans to issue a recall on its Accord, Civic, Fit, and eleven other vehicles in its domestic market of Japan.Ten of the vehicles involve a fuel pump defect that could stop the engine. Nearly 300,00 vehicles are involved. Affected vehicles were built between April through October 2005. The other recall, involving the Vamos minivan (pictured), is to repair a leaking oil feed pipe. Models affected by this recall were manufactured from January through March 2007. Nearly 100,000 are involved.
No injuries or fatalities have been reported to be the result from either issue. It was not known, at the time of the original article, if the recall affects vehicles sold outside the country.
