Honda Recalls Accord, Crosstour, For Driver’s Side Airbag That May Not Inflate

2012 Crosstour Ex L Rear Quarter

Just days after Honda announced pricing for the Crosstour, they’re forced to announce something else: the Crosstour, along with its Accord platform-mate, are being recalled for an airbag system that could fail to deploy the driver’s side airbag.

The driver’s side airbag inflator is defective on about 341 Accords and Crosstours, all built in 2011 for model year 2012. In a crash, it might not deploy, which could be bad news for those caught in side impact collisions. Honda will replace the airbag for free; if you believe that your car is affected, contact Honda toll-free at (800) 999-1009, and select option 4, or go to Honda’s recall website.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is also a good source for answers—they can be reached via phone at (888) 327-4236, with the recall ID 12V030000.
