It looks like Honda owners continue to be happy with their choice of cars. According to the Detroit News, a new J.D. Power and Associates survey of drivers shows that four Honda models were ranked in the top of their respective vehicle categories in customer satisfaction. Category breakdown went as follows:
- Subcompact: Honda Fit (pictured) and Toyota Yaris (tie)
- Compact: Volkswagen Jetta
- Compact Sporty: Volkswagen GTI
- Compact Premium Sporty: Porsche Cayman
- Entry Premium: BMW 3 Series
- Midsize Premium: Mercedes-Benz E-Class
- Large Premium: Mercedes-Benz S-Class
- Premium Sporty: BMW 6 Series
- Midsize Sporty: Ford Mustang
- Midsize: Nissan Altima Sedan
- Large: Hyundai Azera
- Compact MAV: Honda CR-V
- Midsize MAV: Ford Edge
- Large MAV: Nissan Armada
- Midsize Premium MAV: BMW X5
- Large Premium MAV: Cadillac Escalade EXT and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class (tie)
- Large Pickup: Honda Ridgeline
- Van: Honda Odyssey
Overall, Porsche was the highest ranked brand for the third year in a row. The most improved brand was Toyota’s Scion, which is targeting the youth market.
The survey proved to be good news for the Detroit auto makers. As can be seen, General Motors had 11 models in the top three of categories; Ford had four; DaimlerChrysler had seven.
