Honda Accord facing NHTSA Recall due to Lack of Parking

2003 2004 Honda Accord Ex Front Left

If you go back to your parking spot and can’t find your Honda Accord, search down the street the obviously out-of-place car before reporting auto theft.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has stated that the 2002-2003 Honda Accord might face a recall. The problem is a potential failing of the ignition park-shift interlock system that can cause cars to roll away. So far there have been no injuries, but multiple cases of cars rolling away because the keys were removed before the car was shifted to park have been reported.

Honda has faced two recalls regarding the same issue within the last five years on Honda and Acura vehicles, including the 1998-2002 Accords. The NHTSA has not yet decided if they will expand the recall to include 680,000 additional ’02 and ’03 Accords.

Our take? Even popular, reliable models have faults, it seems.
