General Motors, reacting to high demand from consumers and dealership over its stunning Cadillac SRX, will be increasing production of the luxury crossover/SUV.
Currently, inventories are at a 57-day supply, slightly below the preferred 60-day surplus. As more orders come in, that supply will quickly deplete.
“They all want SRXs right away,” Kurt McNeil, Cadillac’s US sales chief in an interview with Automotive News.
According to McNeil, the production increase at GM’s Ramos Arizpe plant will likely occur sometime this fourth quarter.
GM introduced the redesigned two-row, five-passenger SUV last summer with the Lexus RX 350 square in its sights. It comes standard with a 3.0-liter V-6 that sends 265 horsepower to the front wheels.
