Affordable sports cars is the name of the game in this week’s episode of Head 2 Head, as Carlos Lago tests out the 2013 Scion FR-S and the 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club Edition trying to answer the question of which car is more fun.
When compared to the FR-S, the Miata is so small and makes you feel more conscious of the moment. Miata has an endearing character and sounds like a proper four-cylinder sports car. Lago knows that deciding between the two will be difficult, so he calls in the help of Kim Reynolds, Motor Trend Testing Director to help him out.
Bot have different takes as to how to evaluate the cars, as Reynolds wants to use electrodes to measure heart rate values and measure his smile when driving each car. But Lago says a less scientific measure ought to be in order.
Reynolds describes the Scion as 2 dimensional, a violin with one string. Although it may sound better than the Miata with its one string, the Miata can play a symphony. But that doesn’t answer which of the two is more entertaining. For that, you’re just going to have to watch the episode below.
