Ethanol, specifically E85, continues to excite. And there are lots of reasons for that. Unlike gasoline, where there is a limited supply, ethanol can be made from items of which we have an abundance and can always grow more — vegetables, more specifically corn or sugar and other feedstock. Moreover, the engines that are being used in today’s cars can burn ethanol and thus avoiding conversion kits or other modifications. And, finally, cars can switch back to good old gasoline any times there’s no ethanol pump to be around (and there are very, very few pumps at the moment.)
The Car Connection came up with a list of vehicles available right now that can burn ethanol and gas. They include:
- 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche
- 2007 Chevrolet Impala
- 2007 Chrysler Aspen
- 2007 Chrysler Sebring (pictured)
- 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible
- 2007 Dodge Caravan
- 2007 Ford Crown Victoria
- 2007 Ford F-150
- 2007 GMC Savana
- 2007 Saturn Relay
Our take? Now let’s make the argument that says there is plenty of ethanol true by having stations on every street corner that has it at the pump.
