Ford wants you. GM wants you. Ford wants you more! GM wants you most! Never felt this special, have you! Even your loved one’s loyalty to you doesn’t pay this well, does it?
You want a Ford, but you just might be willing to buy that GM you’ve had your roving eye on. You drive a Ford now, always have, and you’re relatively happy with the company, but hmmm, maybe it’s time for a change.
Yep! You’re sure! It’s a GM truck you want this time. Suddenly, you get a direct mailing for conquest cash from Ford who wants you to stick with it and buy its model, so the automobile company is going to give you cash back, sometimes as much as $2,000 to get you to stay. In 2007, Saab offered $1000 in loyalty cash to current Saab owners to get into an ’08 model. Now that cash has doubled.
"What the hey!" you say. But hold your horsepower! Because Ford is will likely counter that offer, says Tom Libby of J.D. Power and associates. His advice: shop around for incentives and keep your eyes peeled for some sweet cash incentives.
