It certainly appears that the domestic auto industry has turned the corner on this recession. Ford announced that its sales jumped 43 percent in February over the same period last year. General Motors had announced a sales rise of 32 percent. And Chrysler experienced a bump in sales recording a 0.5 percent rise.
Ford highlights include:
Fusion sales were more than double and the car experienced its 10th monthly sales record in 11 months.
Sales of the Ford Taurus was up 93 percent.
The F-Series pickup truck experienced a 39 percent increase in sales.
Highlights for Chrysler include:
Car sales for Chrysler increased 38 percent over last year.
Chrysler sales were up 9 percent over February 2009.
Jeep brand sales were up 6 percent.
Dodge brand sales rose 8 percent.
