Ford Transit Connect Recalled For Wipers Falling Off

2013 Ford Transit Connect

It must never rain in Europe. The Ford Transit Connect is undergoing a recall for its windshield wipers, which may detach from the van and become even less effective than before.

The wiper arm isn’t properly riveted down to the motor, which means that windshield clearing will be poor to begin with. There are 16,330 Connects, with model years between 2011 and 2012, that have this problem. Ford is planning to replace them for free starting August 13th.

If you own a Transit Connect, and you live anywhere that’s not Southern California where windshield wipers might actually be used (or just wiping it clear of bugs), then you can contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332. Be sure to mention the exact recall campaign number, which is 12S36.
