Ford Recalls Expedition, Navigator For Improperly Made Headrests

2010 Ford Expedition

Ford’s 2012 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator are being recalled for their headrests, which weren’t correctly welded from the factory and could break in an accident.

Built from November to December 2011, these 2012 model year SUVs had head restraint brackets installed on the second row that could be weaker than expected. 569 models are affected, and Ford will replace the headrest for free. It’s just one headrest on the right-side seat, so consider saving that seat for groceries, or your dog.

The recall will begin on February 20. The NHTSA’s campaign number isĀ 12V034000, which you’ll need to reference if you contact the organization. If you have any questions, call the NHTSA at (888) 327-4236, or Ford’s customer service line at (866) 436-7332.
