Fisker Recalls 239 Karma EV’s for Potential Coolant Leak

Fisker Karma Front Three Quarter

Dear Leonardo DiCaprio and Colin Powell,

Fisker is recalling the Karma EV built between July and November 2011 for a potential coolant leak. Due to incorrectly placed hose clamps in the battery compartment, the battery compartment cover might come loose, potentially causing the coolant hoses to leak into the battery compartment. Should this occur, the high-voltage battery could short, causing a fire.

The Fisker recall affects 239 Karma EV’s, and Fisker will notify owners next week where a replacement part, if necessary, will be installed at no additional cost.

For more information, the recall campaign number is 51611001. Owner’s can also call the vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
