The 2012 model year will mark the inception of the Volvo C70 Inscription special edition. To mark the C70 Inscription’s inception, Volvo has released a description of the vehicle’s additions, which add quite a lot of features in our recollection.
Starting with the retractable hardtop C70, the Inception adds a stitched, leather-covered dashboard, Sovereign Hide leather upholstery, “Inscription” embroidered on the front headrests, special floor mats and handbrake lever, and a steering wheel, shifter, center console, and pedals with aluminum inlays.
Volvo says the C70 Inscription implements the brands “Designed Around You” philosophy with its extra luxury goodies. Along with the interior amenities, Volvo has also worked with Polestar to retune the car’s electronics and bump horsepower in its 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine to 250. That compares favorably to the standard C70’s 227 horsepower.
The C70 Inscription will also come with a black-painted grille, exclusive 18-inch wheels, and xenon headlights. It will come only in ice white or black sapphire metallic.
Prices haven’t been announced yet, but expect more information about the car to be released next week at its Los Angeles Auto Show introduction. Volvo plans to make 2000 units of the Inscription edition for the world with the first of them going on sale in the U.S. early next year.
