Even in Death Cadillac XTS Hearse Promises Safety and Luxury

2013-Cadillac-XTS-Hearse-Front-Three-Quarters-View

For those concerned with advanced safety features and elegantly crafted luxury even after you’ve expired, rest assured—or should we say, rest in peace—because the Cadillac XTS Hearse is a reality. We haven’t been inside the Cadillac XTS Hearse, but we’ve driven the new XTS, and the hearse will likely be the same car on most counts, obviously elongated, and with back seat and cargo room limited to one.

The 2013 Cadillac XTS boasts fine leather, stitching, and everything you could want in a plush cruiser. In fact, there may be no finer way to be carted off one last time to your final resting place. While you won’t be exactly conscious for the journey, know that the XTS has magnetic ride control, which should ensure a smooth ride on the way to your bash, guaranteeing you won’t look frazzled or anxious in front of your guests. We don’t have the mechanical details on the XTS Hearse, but the XTS sedan is powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It’s likely the Cadillac XTS Hearse would employ the same engine. And really, you shouldn’t be in a hurry, this (hopefully) will be your final ride, and speed and power aren’t your foremost concerns here. For what it’s worth, as far as hearses go, this one looks pretty neat.
