Enterprise has committed heavily to hybrid vehicles. The company already offers hybrids at many of its sites. Now comes word that the company will be doubling its hybrid fleet. Moreover, it intends to designate some of its sites as “hybrid branches.” It has identified four such sites in the state of Virginia.
Enterprise boasts that it has the world’s largest fleet of hybrid cars available for rent. The company claims that the total of hybrids in its fleet after the planned additions will be about 10,000 vehicles.
The hybrids will be available in 30 major markets including Atlanta, Boston, California, Colorado, Detroit, Florida, Minneapolis, New York, Oregon, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, Texas and Washington, D.C.
Sites that have been identified as ‘hybrid branches’ in Virginia include Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport, Norfolk International Airport, Richmond International Airport and Roanoke Regional Airport. Customers can reserve vehicles online or by phone.
Enterprise also pointed out that it has eight “E85/FlexFuel Branches.” Up to 30 percent of the vehicles in the fleet at these sites can run on E85.
