Diesel fumes may add Stress to Commutes

Road Rage

The downsides in diesels (i.e., the smell, the particulates, etc) are well-known, and the Germans have been able to take care of other similar issues with the use of urea injection into the exhausts. It now seems, that there’s a new issue with diesel motors.

Researches now believe that diesel emissions in levels comparable to those found in a typical urban environment can actually trigger a stress response within the brain. They found that placing individuals within a room under those circumstances (i.e., smog, etc.) caused noticeable changes in brain activity.

Our take? Hmmm. Now, compare those findings against normal gas emissions under the same circumstances. If the outcome remains the same, tnen there’s an issue there.
