Internet access is becoming so prevalent that we will soon be taking it for granted.
One device that assists us to connect to the web while we’re in our cars is the Clarion MiND. Connecting to the Internet by way of Wi-Fi, the device also offers:
- navigation with graphics
- the latest traffic information
- point-of-interest sites from Google Map
- Firefox-based browser to surf the Internet
- access to a music library through the MP3Tunes website; YouTube; MySpace; the Weather Channel; CNN and BBC websites
- access to movies, music and photos via RealPlayer browser
- the ability to view PDF files
- create simple documents and receive and send email
Now Clarion is offering an enhancement that allows it to tap the 3G network used by smart cellular phones. The enhancement is an optional 3G modem as well as free software owners of the MiND can download from the Clarion website.
Our take? Who knows what’s coming next? Maybe the MiND will be able to drive your car. Stay tuned.
