Chrysler Buildings Fiat

Chrysler and its new partner/owner Fiat, it seems, doesn’t want to share.
Mitsubishi and Hyundai have sold their shares of the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance to Chrysler. The partnership, which included Mitsubishi, Hyundai and Chrysler, built engines in a plant in Dundee, Michigan.

The partnership built 4-cylinder engines used by all three automakers. These engines also included a turbocharged variety that appeared in the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, Hyundai Genesis 2.0T and the Dodge Caliber SRT-4.

Both Hyundai and Mitsubishi said that they will manufacture “global engines” at plants outside of the U.S.
