It can be argued that last weekend was one of the best weekends for television all year. After four unpredictable weeks of men’s college basketball, this weekend was a culmination of the 68 best teams in the nation when only four of them remain. With the mystery of who’s going to the finals behind us (Kansas vs. Kentucky), Chrysler looked to capitalize on the massive amount of eyes that were surely be glued to the television throughout the weekend with four commercials, each focusing on a different brand. Each commercial is its own interpretation of the wildly-popular “Halftime in America” spot that first aired during the Super Bowl.
These new commercials began airing on Chrysler’s YouTube page but were broadcast during the men’s final four and will continue during the championship game. The four brands receiving airtime include Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, and Ram. While the “Halftime in America” commercials didn’t mean to, some felt that there was a political message subliminally hidden within it. Chrysler says that wasn’t the case with the first commercial and we doubt the sentiment will be echoed with these next four. Check all four commercials out for yourself down below.
