The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced it has opened an investigation on model year 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV and MY 2007 Toyota Camry sedan and RAV4 crossover.

According to the federal agency, it has received twelve complaints from Chevrolet Trailblazer owners and six complaints from Toyota owners of fires erupting from the driver side door. Initial research into the issue may indicate the door’s power window master switch may be the culprit. It is unknown at this time if the problem is related, or merely coincidental.

Neither the NHTSA, General Motors, and Toyota have issued a recall of the affected vehicles at the time of this post, and no accidents nor injuries linked to the issue have been reported. Interested parties can review the investigation reports at the NHTSA’s website under the ODI numbers (for Toyota) 10446699, 10436663, 10429983, 10411328, 10394453, and 10323848; and (for Chevrolet) 10229743, 10247838, 10274337, 10275626, 10406203, 10409023, 10414691, 10417938, 10423865, 10426281, 10434446, and 10445657.
