Calling ahead for your Parking Space

Parkatmyhouse Website

Oh, to be young, energetic, and ambitious. Or at least young.
That seems to describe 24-year old entrepreneur Anthony Eskinazi. The British resident has a website business that matches drivers with people or companies who have parking spaces.

The space could be on a commercial lot or at a home. The driver simply logs on and finds out the name of the person or company who is offering a parking space in a convenient location for the driver.

The program is a good way for a home owner to make some extra coin. British home owners who have rented out parking spaces have picked up as much as $40 a day. And homeowners who have rented a parking space for the long term have earned as much as $10,000 a year. Now that is a good amount of coin!

Eskinazi is expanding to the United States. Business and home owners all over the U.S. can now register their parking space so that they can be linked to people who are looking for a place to park. In addition, as part of a “green initiative,” he has entered into an exclusive partnership with Zipcar, the world’s largest car sharing company. The program allows home owners to rent their garage or driveway as a parking space to Zipcar.

Our take? Imagine supplementing your normal income with as much as $10,000. That’s a nice down payment for a new car. But wait, that new car would have to use the parking space being rented. Never mind.
