Cadillac announced earlier today that a pair of limited edition modes sporting custom paint will join the Cadillac CTS Coupe and V-Series product lines later this year. First up is the Silver Frost Edition, which will be a special production of 100 CTS-V Coupes with a low-gloss matte paint finish. The Stealth Blue Edition is a more traditional metallic finish that will appear on the CTS Coupe and high-performance CTS-V in Coupe, Sedan, Wagon body styles.
“Both Stealth Blue and Silver Frost are very expressive but sill true to the luxury and exclusivity that a Cadillac represents, which were driving factors in the creation of the color,” said Michelle Killen, lead creative designer for exterior paints.
Beginning in March, the Silver Frost Edition will be available on collector-edition vehicles through select Cadillac dealers across the country. This edition will offer optional features like yellow or red Brembo brake calipers, high polished or satin graphite wheels, and suede-covered steering wheel and shift knob.
Cadillac achieved the desired finish of Silver Frost by applying a “30-gloss” clear coat to the paint, instead of the standard “80-gloss” paint finish. Although it is distinctly matte, the paint still shows some sparkle when certain light is reflected off it.
At the same time as the Silver Frost Edition, the Stealth Blue Edition will have a limited production run beginning in March and will be available on the CTS coupe and all CTS-V models. However, there is an optional “Twilight Blue” leather interior package being offered on the CTS coupe, V coupe and sedan models. Performance-inspired details available on the Stealth Blue Edition models will include satin graphite wheels with silver calipers, a dark finish grille, and Recaro performance seats.
