Earlier this week, Cadillac announced that it will be enhancing its certified pre-owned vehicle program to include higher levels of warranty coverage and benefits for owners and shoppers. Starting this week, the program will extend coverage to match the new-vehicle bumper-to-bumper warranty for up to six years or 70,000 miles.
Included in the updated program are complimentary 24-hour roadside assistance, courtesy transportation, and a three-month subscription to both OnStar and SiriusXM satellite radio. “Enhancing the Certified Pre-Owned program adds valuable benefits for customers and the entire Cadillac brand. Improving Certified Pre-Owned supports the ongoing long-term increase in resale value, and is another tool that will enable us to attract new customers,” said Chase Hawkins, vice president of Cadillac U.S. sales and service in a recent interview.
Previously reserved for new vehicles, Cadillac is offering its Premium Care Maintenance to owners of 2011 models and newer. This maintenance covers oil changes, engine air and cabin filters, tire rotations, and multi-point vehicle inspections. Along with this offer, the updated pre-owned program is helping to elevate the resale value, which has helped Cadillac have a 37 percent sales increase in U.S. sales so far this year.
When asked about the past and current warranties, David Caldwell, Manager, Cadillac communications, said, “Our previous program was a four year/50,000 bumper to bumper warranty, with the six year/70,000 mile powertrain warranty. The new program extends the warranty by two years and 20,000 miles. Enhancing Certified Pre-Owned is another one of the many steps in Cadillac’s ascension. With significant sales growth driven by new products, resale values are increasing. This move with pre-owned vehicles is a method to expand the brand to new buyers.”
