At Automotive.com, we love to geek out on “tech” stuff, especially videos. Although we take great pride in de-mystifying the jargon and hoopla surrounding cars and the automotive industry, every once in a while, we find an enthusiast-minded video or press release that is above all, utterly indulgent, but also worthy of your attention. In this case, we’re taking a three-minute break from “work” to drool over the new Cadillac Ciel concept.
And we think you should, too.
If you are as captivated by the concept as we are, or even just mildly interested in hunky, European car designers waxing poetic on the inspiration and heritage of open-air luxury, then take a gander at the imagined future of ultra luxury, Cadillac-style.
As Associate Editor, Matt Askari, noted last week, the Ciel is a bit fun, and a lot ridiculous. It’s cool to think about cashmere blankets, aromatherapy, and 300-year old, handcrafted Italian olive wood, but realistically, what about this car is most exciting? What does the name mean, and how do you pronounce it?
For more on those silky, vertical lines, and open-air interior, check out this video featuring Cadillac’s Niki Smart, exterior design manager, Gael Buzyn, interior design manager, and Clay Dean, design director, if for nothing else, but to watch rolling footage of the Ciel cruising the Pacific Coast Highway.
