Buick Sales from China bring Green to General Motors

Buick Concept

We see, hear and read the words of many pundits who look upon China as an “Evil Empire.” One out to get us sooner or later. People complain that they hold a lot of our debt and that, in a word, China is financing the war in Iraq and many of the government programs including the bail out of that bank that was in trouble a few weeks ago. Makes you wonder how the country got to host the Olympics, doesn’t it? Sure, all of this is true (including the Olympics). But there is a favorable side to China as far as the U.S. is concerned. The Chinese are buying our cars. They especially like Buicks, it’s been said.

Moreover, all of our domestic car companies have some kind of partnership with a Chinese auto maker. This is a boom to both and means the manufacturing of more fuel efficient small cars that the public is now clambering for.

So, as we sit and criticize China, we need to give them a favorable nod just the same.
