It’s not often when you see automakers taking risks with mainstream products like the 2013 Kia Sportage SX. It looks like nothing else on the road. Weighing a relatively svelte 3,300 pounds and sending 260 turbocharged horsepower to the wheels, it goes a good bit faster than most of its competition. The Kia Sportage was introduced in its current generation in 2011, but it’s now the oldie of the Kia lineup with a new Cadenza full-size sedan, Forte compact, and refreshed Optima and Sorento on their way, if not here already. Still, with a host of technology at a reasonable price, it’s not like it’s a bad deal, either.
We had a 2013 Kia Sportage SX for a week, poring over every curve in its sheetmetal and checking out every feature. On paper, it looks to be a winner. But like NCAA brackets, things can change when the game is played in real-time. Read our Road Test of the 2013 Kia Sportage SX to see how.
