Word from Ingolstadt is Audi is producing a very limited production model of the Audi TTS, to celebrate reaching model 500,000 in the Audi TT nameplate. The first generation of the Audi TT debuted in 1998, and half a million TTs later, Audi is producing 500 copies of the 272-hp Audi TTS to mark the occasion.
What’s new? Audi TT enthusiasts will receive an exclusive interior with Steel gray leather with Imola yellow accents. Special paint finishes include Imola yellow or Nimbus gray, and the fixed rear wing will have bars with a matte-aluminum look and finish. The special edition TTS will be sold with a choice of black or gray for the roadster’s top. 19-inch wheels with a five-arm “Rotor” design sit on large 225/35 tires.
The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine pushes the Audi TTS to 60 mph in about 5.2 seconds when equipped with the S-tronic automatic transmission. Add two tenths of a second for the manual-transmission TTS, still pretty quick. The Audi TTS special edition is electronically limited to 155 mph. Deliveries are expected in October.
