Top Gear fans, if you missed watching Jeremy Clarkson test drive and compare the Audi R8 5.2 FS V10 and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (or if you want to watch it again), the video is available on YouTube.
The Audi R8 5.2 V10 FSI comes with a 5.2 liter V10 engine that produces 528 horsepower and uses an R-tronic transmission. It can go 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 196 mph,

Competitor Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is powered by a LS9 supercharged 6.2 liter V8 engine that produces 638 horsepower and 604 lb-ft of torque. The ZR1 is capable of going 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 205 miles per hour.

Going off these specs, you would think the Corvette would just dominate the R8 on the track. Nope. In Clarkson’s tests, the Corvette having trouble taking corners which results in it spending most of its track time trying to keep up with the R8.

The Stig, though, able to get American muscle to go just slightly faster around the track. Clarkson and Hammond both agree that while the R8’s track time is achievable by the common man, they would never be able to drive the Corvette like the Stig can. Even better, Clarkson states that he finds the ZR1 to be more fun to drive then the R8.

Our take? While the R8 can outrun a Corvette ZR1, we wonder how it handles up against other supercars of equal caliber.
