While the larg Q7 SUV is selling like hotcakes, Audi is not resting on its laurels. Volkswagen’s luxury brand is planning to release two more SUVs: the mid-sized Q5, which is most likely to compete against BMW’s X5, and the Q3.The Q3 will be based on a Volkswagen Concept A platform (pictured). The Q3 will more likely be a two-door to avoid competing directly with its VW sibling. Styling, though, will be more sporty.
Powerplant information is still scarce. Most likely the Q3 will offer two different turbocharged four-cylinders depending on trim. One possible version, the Q3S, may come with an updated turbo four or even six-cylinder.
The Q3 is expected to be for sale some time in 2010.
