It’s just… it just makes me want to cry, it’s so beautiful and I want it. I am, you know, speaking of the Audi RS4 Avant, an all-wheel drive German station wagon that every driving nation on earth but America gets to enjoy. There are 450 reasons to lament that I, we–Americans–are excluded from this special dose of Audi awesomeness.
Audi’s RS line of automobiles represents its most race-tuned, hopped-up version of consumer insanity. It’s a lot like Mercedes-Benz’s AMG and BMW’s M Division: they are better, funner, unforgiving versions of the cars on which they are based–in this case, a regular Audi A4 Avant (station wagon). And to prove the point, here, we present this–a video of two 2013 Audi RS4 Avants playing paintball.
Yes, those hood-mounted objects of destruction look like M2 Browning .50-cal machine guns modified to fire yellow and blue (significant!). It’s not nearly as stupid as it sounds, and by the way, the sound is downright bitchin’–if you’re into that kind of thing. It’s the dueling exhaust groan of steroided 4.2-liter V-8s and the silly music just shows you that Audi knows how to have fun.
Know what would be better though? If Americans could have that kind of fun, too.
