Here’s an example of how pervasive technology has become. In the old days before the internet, if a company wanted to promote a product it had to do it via television or radio advertising or print advertising.
Then came the internet and websites. Now, due to the development of wireless communication which allows the downloading of applications, there is a new way for a company to market its goods.
Owners of the Apple iPhone can now download an application created by Ford that promotes the Ford Flex. The application includes a photo lab feature which allows the user to enhance photos on their iPhone and it also includes information about the new 2009 Ford Flex.
Our take? Sales of the Flex has not been very good. Only 7,552 have been sold from June through September. So, via Apple, here’s another way to get the word out.
