Nissan has announced that it will serve as Apple’s exclusive automotive partner for iTunes Radio, spanning across the full lineup of Apple products. The first Nissan vehicles to be outfitted with the new feature will include the redesigned 2014 Rogue, all-new 2014 Versa Note, and all-electric Leaf.
As exclusive partners for the remainder of 2013, the duo will create special content to support the launch of the 2014 Rogue and Nissan Heisman House tour. “We see iTunes Radio as an integral part of our new vehicle launches and ‘big moments,’ riding the wave of interest and usage of this exciting new service to maximize exposure of Nissan’s new models,” said Jon Brancheau, vice president, Marketing, Nissan North America, Inc., in a recent statement.
Nissan will also add content on iAd, part of iTunes Radio, to further support ongoing campaigns. Brancheau believes this platform is the right way for the brand to reach target audiences. iTunes Radio is set to become the next big thing in internet radio, and by jumping on the train early, Nissan hopes to deliver the brand to new audiences.
Although only three Nissan models will feature iTunes Radio, other vehicles in the lineup will receive the new technology as the partnership progresses. The 2014 Nissan Rogue is set to go on sale in November, and with the help of iAd and iTunes Radio, Nissan hopes to increase reservations for the vehicle and to promote the campaign theme, “Make the Ordinary Extraordinary.”
