Accessorizing 2012 Porsche 911 with $900 Porsche Jeans

Porsche Jeans

Planning on attending the North American debut of the all-new 2012 Porsche 911 sports car at the Porsche Rennsport Reunion IV at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif. In October? If so, Porsche has a pair of suggestions on what to wear at the three-day event.

The “pair” is, well, a pair of Porsche Design Denim jeans. Made in collaboration with Germany-based luxury denim maker Blessed & Cursed, Porsche Design will showcase the jeans tonight with the rest of its fashion collection at an invitation-only event at its Beverly Hills boutique.

Pricing of the jeans starts from a “low” $390 to the “celebrity edition,” which costs an eye-watering $900. Now, Porsche cars cost a lot, but they offer singularly unique driving experience. On the other hand, the jeans will simply cover your legs in blue denim, something a good pair of Levis will do for about $40. Just sayin’.

Porsche Design is separate from the car company. Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche started the Porsche Design fashion line back in 1972, and it now encompasses clothing, luggage, sunglasses, watches, and even men’s cologne. The Porsche Design Denim line joins the company’s August/Winter 2011 collection.
