If you haven't guessed by now, the Automotive.com blog is in Las Vegas, Nevada, covering the 2009 Speciality Equipment Market Association Show, or SEMA.
First things first: despite the Great Recession, car parts and accessories continue to thrive. Official numbers haven't been released at the time of this post, but the crowds -- and the vendors catering to them -- remains undiminished. Probably the only real difference I see from prior shows is less vehicles per booth. That could also be the presence of more foreign competition as well (to be posted later).
