A waste management company in Chilliwack, British Columbia, will be converting its fleet of 28 trucks to run on liquefied natural gas. Not only that, but the gas will be produced from the biogas generated from the natural decomposition of organic waste. In other words, trucks that will be used to haul trash will be fueled by the biogas generated by that trash. Pretty cool, uh?
The company has already performed tests in which a fully loaded heavy truck fueled by liquefied natural gas traveled on a 250 kilometer route hauling solid waste to a landfill in Cache Creek British Columbia.
