2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 finalist for World Car of the Year Award

The finalists for the title of World Car of the Year has been announced.

For those who are not familiar with the award, the World Car of the Year, or WCOTY, is an automobile award determined by 48 automotive journalists from around the world.



Per eGMCarTech, this year's finalists are:

Finalists for the 2009 World Performance Car include the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Nissan GT-R and the new Porsche 911 Carrera. The 2009 World Green Car finalists include the Honda FCX Clarity, Mitsubishi i MiEV and the Toyota iQ. Contenders for the 2009 World Car Design of the Year include the Citroen C5, Fiat 500 and the Jaguar XF.
