Goliath Toyota has apparently taken exception reports that David Ford's Fusion hybrid gets better fuel economy than its own Camry. In fact, Toyota reps state the comparison is apples versus oranges. From the Car Connection:
Jon F. Thompson, editor of Toyota's Open Road blog, says that Toyota "respectfully and cordially" disagrees with the EPA's definition of a midsize car. He claims that a more apt comparison, based on vehicle size, would be between Toyota's Prius and the Ford Fusion hybrid (in which case the Prius would trounce the Fusion in efficiency).
Additional details can be found at the original post. Our take? Uh, sorry, Toyota, but there's no way in heck the buying American public's gonna look at the Ford Fusion and compare it to the Prius. It's an aesthetic thing, you know?
