The internet is the latest proving grounds for succes stories (and failures). Pundits point to the success of General Motors, Chrysler and Ford for advertising on such sites as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and other social sites when they were seeking support for a bailout.
The benefit of online is the cost -- it is less expensive than the more traditional means of advertising such as television, newspapers, and magazines. In fact, more and more companies are turning to advertising online causing many newspapers and print magazines to suffer.
One company that intends to increase its ad budget into online is Volkswagen. The company says that it will do more online advertising because “that’s where all the conversations are.”
