You know that phrase, “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me?” Well, those words must be imprinted in the minds of the execs over at Daimler after its fiasco during the DaimlerChrysler era.

While some pundits like to link Mercedes-Benz's owner to possible acquisition of other auto companies, Daimler shoots down the rumors with a booming “No, we are not interested.” Well, the company says it is not interested in purchasing Volvo from Ford. “We were never interested in Volvo,” said a Daimler spokesperson.

Daimler found a need to let its true feelings known after the German magazine Der Spiegel reported that it was interested in buying the Swedish company.

Meanwhile, a Chinese newspaper reports that Changan Automotive Group of China is interested in buying Volvo and so far neither Changan nor Ford have commented on the story.
