James Severtson, general sales manager of Island Chevrolet, arranged for a Chevrolet Suburban SUV outfitted with massive, $5,000 tires to drive over, and supposedly crush, a Honda Accord.
True to American style, however, the Suburban monster truck blew a hydraulic hose and leaked vital fluids as it attempted to crush the Honda Accord. The said Honda Accord sat there smugly.
After a few hours delay, where the macho Chevrolet was receiving necessary repairs to get back to crushing, the dealership instead had driver Ryan Kepiki ride over a Hyundai Excel. The Honda Accord was clearly too much for it.
"We'd like to send the message that the best way to support your country is to buy an American vehicle today," Severtson said.
That, or he’s sending the message that Chevy dealers know how to waste money when times are tough.
