The United States is not the only country in the world considering bailout policies for automakers.

It is happening in Europe, it is happening in India, it is happening in China and it is being considered in Canada.

Help from Canada could give the Detroit Three a source of funds from a second government assuming that they will also be getting help from the U.S. government some time soon. But pundits and industry experts say that they are not sure in what form such assistance from Canada may take.

The point is, Canadian officials feel that they have to provide some kind of assistance if the U.S. does if for nothing less than to save jobs in Canada.

Industry Minister Tony Clement is said to be exploring some kind of joint Canada-U.S. bailout.
