Strategic Vision's Total Value Index (TVI) factors various economic considerations of the ownership experience. The resulting TVI metric represents the overall total value of a vehicle, from the ownership experience to financial concerns such as cost of ownership and resale value. TVI ratings include statements that vehicle owners make about value, including reliability fuel economy and price.
The MAZDA3 had the highest TVI score in the small car class, while the CX-9 was the highest in the Midsize Crossover Utility class.
"When economic conditions become more favorable, the manufacturers who have focused their efforts in enhancing product quality and communicating messages of trustworthy products and overall value will be in a position to regain and even take over new market share," explained Alexander Edwards, Strategic Vision's president of automotive.
