2009 Toyota Venza gets Lowered to Avoid SUV Label

The upcoming, Camry-based Venza could easily be mistaken for an SUV. An who wants one of those nowadays?

Toyota's brilliant answer to this problem? Lower the Venza so that it won't be mistaken for anything other than a car/wagon/hatch thing.

It will likely only be a fix for the 2WD models as well. Those choosing to purchase the 4WD likely hoping to take advantage of the ride height anyway.

As for what Toyota will do with regards to the blatantly crossover/SUV styling has yet to be determined.

Our take? Really? Toyota's success must have gone to its head if it thinks that simply lowering an SUV will trick people into thinking it's more car like. As if the upright grill, slab sides, and SUZ profile won't give it away.

With the gas prices coming down consumer's are going to start buying these big vehicles again. Look at the big picture people and stop buying trucks and SUV's, you'll be crying again soon enough when gas prices shoot back up.
