Auto magazine Car, which is based in the United Kingdom, has published photos of what it says is an electric MINI being tested on the roads of Munich, Germany. And it isn’t as if MINI wanted to be secretive about it. The test car showed “Hybrid Test Vehicle” decals all over it.
It is expected that the electric Mini will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. BMW and MINI are expected to produce 500 electric cars for its "Project i", a program meant to promote low emission urban mobility. The company will lease 490 cars by the end of 2009 to selected consumers, with the remaining 10 cars to be available to attend shows.
