Nissan replies to Porsche Accusations of Cheating

Porsche has recently cried foul on Nissan’s 7:29 Nurburgring lap time, saying that Nissan’s GT-R could not possibly have made that time without racing tires.

What does Nissan say to Porsche in its defense? Learn to drive.

Nissan Europe has released a statement reaffirming the tires as standard, normal road tires. Nissan executives have also offered the actual Dunlop SP Sport 600 DSST CTT used and a movie video footage taken from within the car during the 7:29 run.

Nissan is also offering Porsche driving lessons, if they feel the need. The Japanese automaker also states that the GT-R was disadvantaged with an extra 50 kg of data and camera equipment Toshio Suzuki carried during the run.

Either someone is lying, or someone needs to learn to drive. We’ll see what Porsche has to say.
