BMW parks Z4 Permanently

As of August 27th, the last BMW Z4 rolled off the assembly line.

The Z4 E85 roadster has been available since 2002 with the E86 coupe since 2006. Apparently BMW had to free up assembly lines at its South Carolina plant for the popular X5 and X6 SUVs while planning on assembling its small X3 there. 200,000 units of the Z4 were produced at the plant.

Our take? A new roadster is expected to be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show, thus far whispered as the E89. Let’s hope it will live up to its predecessor.

If a replacement is around the corner, this isn't exactly a requiem. The newer model should be better yet!
