Porsche considers New Car for the Masses

It seems that some companies in the luxury car market want to participate in the entry level segment of that market.

Reports are coming in that exotic sports car maker Porsche is working with Volkswagen to come out with a new entry level model to compete with entry level models from BMW and Audi. Examples include the 1-Series and the S3.

Talk is that the vehicle will be anything from a sporty hatchback to a compact SUV. There has also been whispers that the company intends to work with Volkswagen and Audi to develop a new mid-engine sports car which will be positioned behind the Boxster and Cayman.

Volkswagen is expected to show a concept of this car at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

Our take? So Porsches will be finally affordable to the masses, eh? We don't know. A mid-30s priced Porsche just doesn't seem right.
