Volkswagen sold 3.31 million vehicles in the first half of this year compared to 3.22 million for Ford.
This is not the first time Ford got blind-sighted by the competition. We all remember that Ford was the second largest car maker worldwide until 2004 when Toyota passed it. Ford is being welcomed into the number three spot. At least, for now.
Our take? As one company goes down another goes up. Although it is true that Toyota had to cut back on production, it is still expected to be the world’s largest auto manufacturer by the end of this year.
