Fiat Abarth 500. MINI Competitor?

If you don't know what Abarth is, understand this. It is one of the most storied racing nameplates ever, its Scorpion badge adorning the rumps of some awesome Italian cars.

Now owned by Fiat, the Abarth badge is once again out in the open, and in the case of the Fiat 500 Abarth esseesse, it helps to make it a awesome little car.

Offering a more power and racier suspension than the standard Abarth 500, the esseesse is what the John Copper Works package is to the MINI. A serious of upgrades that transform the car into a more capable, more fun, giant slaying kind of an automobile.

Though details have yet to be finalized, expect some 160 horsepower form the little turbo 1.4, for those of you lucky enough to be able to purchase one anyway.

Our take? It's like an M badge; but cooler because it's Italian.
