The top ten sedans in terms of desirability -- a reflection of how long the models are staying (or not) on dealerships lots -- included cars ranging from the Toyota Prius to the Lincoln MKS, Chevy Malibu, and the all-new Nissan Maxima. Also of note is that Hyundai's new Genesis made the list, as well as the Pontiac G8, a surprise considering its fuel economy.
The top ten worst included the likes of the BMW M5, Ford Taurus, two Audis (A4 and RS4), the E320 diesel Mercedes-Benz, and the Mercury Sable. The worst list does not seem to indicate any trends other than nearly all of the models have been on the market relatively unchanged. Fuel economy? Th M5 inclusion dashes that idea since fuel efficient cars like the Taurus/Sable twins made the list. Price is not a factor as well since even the Kia Amanti made the list.
Our take? Proof positive that consumers are fickle as there is no real rhyme or reason to the list other than people buy the cars that tickle their fancy, and walk away when they don't.
